Investigation and Remediation of Waterfront Resort

The Owners Corporation engaged Izzat Consulting Engineers to investigate water leaks at a high rise accommodation on the Central Coast. Being on the waterfront at The Entrance, the high-rise is subjected to high wind loads and durability issues due to exposure to a coastal environment.

Detailed investigation was undertaken, which identified that the face-sealed Hebel façade had water ingress issues to façade elements. The issues were found to be a result of poor construction practices, in combination with poor detailing of the works and failed joint sealants. Izzat produced specifications and drawings to document the necessary repair works.

The repair works were so extensive, that the construction had to be completed in 3 separate stages. Stage 1 and 2 were successfully completed, and Stage 3 is currently in progress. Izzat supervised construction works by undertaking inspections at critical hold points.
