Investigation and Remediation of Post-Tension Pockets, Waterfront Resort
Location: The Entrance
While Izzat Consulting Engineers was investigating external post-tension pockets, it was discovered that the grout to the internal post-tension pan pockets had failed and the anchor blocks were corroding due to exposure to chlorinated pool water.
Under the direction of Izzat, specialist remedial contractors exposed and cleaned the post-tensioning strands and re-grouted the pockets to form a new anchor plug.
The investigation and remedial works were completed in a confined space with restricted work area, low lighting and poor ventilation, so particular attention to safe work methods and practices was critical for these works.
